Please provide the number and ages of guests in your party, and true nature of your visit. Events/parties/gatherings of any type or size are prohibited. Dogs considered with approval by owner required prior to booking.
This home is located in a private mountain community at approximately 2,800 ft. elevation. The road to the home is paved, with the last 1/10th gravel, so all wheel drive is suggested. As roads in the mountains are not engineered to go straight up the road does meander with grade between 4% to 15%. We share this as not everyone is familiar with driving in the mountains.

Stunning, bright, true log home located on 16 acres in a private community at 2,800 ft. elevation: 12.5 miles south east of downtown Asheville, 4.5 miles to gas and groceries, 11 miles to the gates at Biltmore Estate, 13.5 miles to Omni Grove Park Inn, 14 miles to UNC Asheville, 13.5 miles to Warren Wilson College, 19 miles to Black Mountain, 9 miles to Asheville Regional Airport, 69 miles to Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport, 110 miles to Charlotte Douglas International Airport.
Enjoy sunrise each morning in this 4,000 square foot home with soaring ceilings, 4 spacious comfortable bedrooms; 2 king bedrooms each with private en-suite bath (main level and lower level), 2 queen bedrooms share en-suite jack and jill bath (second level), 2 half baths (main level). Large great room with floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace, comfortable seating for all, dining room, fully outfitted gourmet kitchen; granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, large 2 door refrigerator, gas stove, commercial style range hood with warming shelf, wall oven and microwave, warming drawer, dishwasher, large pantry and loads of storage.
Lower level with additional kitchenette; refrigerator, Keurig, microwave, flat panel TV, stone floor to ceiling gas fireplace.
Back deck with east/sunrise view runs entire width of the home with chaise lounges, gas fire pit, and dining area. The deck continues on the side of the home with screened in area off the kitchen, gas grill hooked in to the house supply, flat panel TV, and comfortable seating for all!
Enjoy a friendly ping pong competition or relax in the sauna after a long day or exploring.

All cancellations made more than 60 days prior to occupancy date will receive a full refund minus the processing fee (2.95%). All cancellations made less than 60 days prior to the occupancy date will forfeit 100% of payments made. If balance due/final payment is not received by the due date as presented in the rental agreement, your reservation will be treated as cancelled and your deposit will be forfeited unless we can re-rent the property as represented above. If a guest is disappointed or unsatisfied with the property due to differences in taste according to decor, accommodations, location, construction, mountain road conditions, etc. and declines to stay at the property, this will be considered a cancellation and no rent reduction or refund will be issued. All cancellations by guest must be made in writing/e-mail to info@avlvr.com.

"Family Thanksgiving"
We had such a lovely stay. The kitchen was well stocked. We were able to cook an entire Thanksgiving dinner! We did quite a lot of cooking for vacation. Everyone found their rooms comfortable and well appointed. I really loved how family could play board games, read, or watch sports without impeding others ablity to do what they wanted. East View was a relaxing place to get away to and spend time with a large group.

I wish I could rate this property with 10 stars, because 5 stars just does not do it justice. It stands above and beyond any vacation rental we’ve ever stayed at. My husband and I along with my cousin and her husband stayed there for 3 nights for a weekend get away and we all agreed it was a very comfortable and well appointed house. First of all, the pictures don’t do it justice. The property far exceeded our expectations. The house is breathtakingly beautiful with its high standard of furnishings and appliances, but also very warm and cozy. The entire house including the kitchen was well appointed. It had everything we could ever have asked for and we did not want for anything. The kitchen was so well stocked, even a professional chef would have been impressed with the level of cookware, appliances, kitchen utensils, spices and oils available. The king size beds were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms had big white fluffy towels. The house is immaculate. The views are limited by all the trees, but are very good. We were all very relaxed and very comfortable the entire time and wished we could have stayed longer. We definitely want to make this the place we come to every time we come to Asheville because we all agreed we could never find a better place.

Lovely property and just as advertised. So comfortable and well appointed. Communication with the owners was easy and they responded to questions quickly and professionally. This was our first time in Asheville and it’s a great destination (lots to see and do, great food and drinks,etc.) and this was a perfect place for our family to stay to access it all and still have the experience of getting away to a home up in the mountains.

This was a first for our South Florida family: A genuine cabin in the mountains! The property was gorgeous & cozy all in one. There was more than enough space so everyone had a room to themselves. When requesting our stay, I described our trip as "Christmas vacation in Asheville". The hosts paid attention. We could not have been more appreciative of the Christmas decor we walked in to as my biggest concern was "not feeling the Christmas spirit". This property comes highly recommended from our family. My family of 4 along with another family of 4 stayed at this property. The cabin was immaculate and better than described in my opinion. The house is spacious and well equipped with towels, board games, and even some chocolate to welcome us. We are from Florida and didn’t have any issues with the road going up and down the mountain (some reviews complained about this road). The property owner and management company was very responsive and helpful. We would definitely recommend this house to anyone looking to get away for a few days. It comes with great views and only about 15-20 minutes from Asheville. It is also close to grocery stores, coffee shops, and anything else you need.

Very well equipped home for extended family vacation. Loved the space and layout. Enough bedrooms for 3 separate families. Ping pong table, dry sauna and assortment of games were utilized by all. Fortunately weather was mild this stay do no problems getting to cabin. If roads had been icy or snow covered, it would have been a challenge getting to the location. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to others.

The cabin is so beautiful and the attention to details and extras is clearly why they are super hosts! It is secluded but so close to grocery stores, downtown and airport. The road leading up to the cabin is a little wi day and narrow ( I wouldn’t want to do it in snow and ice ) but once we got there we didn’t want to leave ! We had a couple of unexpected maintenance issues ( it happens) but the management company was so responsive and it didn’t put a damper on our stay. If you are looking for a beautiful cabin to hang out with family ( or friends) cook in a well equipped kitchen , play games and get some rest and relaxation . LOOK NO FURTHER !!!! We can’t wait to go back to this amazing property

This is a lovely home, with plenty of space for 4 couples. It has an expansive deck with great views (particularly of the sunrise). The kitchen is convenient and extremely well equipped. We stayed a week and were comfortable the entire time. The drive to the property is up a remote, narrow road, but nothing that presented problems to careful driving. The owners and property managers were responsive.

We loved the property. In fact we canceled a dinner reservation so we could eat at our "home away from home." Of our five night stay, we chose to eat at East View three times. Dinner on the deck was truly wonderful. One 12 year-old was the child on the trip. He got each of us to play with him.

We loved our week at East View! The accommodations were extremely comfortable and spacious for our group of 5—we would have been equally comfortable with several more! The kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, utensils etc. We enjoyed cooking in several nights, but were close enough to downtown to enjoy the fabulous food and beer Asheville proper has to offer. The ping pong table, sauna, large screen TV, fire pit, and comfortable furniture were also put to good use. When we weren’t lounging around the house, we enjoyed the lovely June weather and headed outdoors. East View is within an hours’ drive of some of the best hiking and biking in Western NC, including the NC Arboretum, Pisgah, sections of the Appalachian Trail, Dupont, and more.

This was a beautiful home extremely comfortable and nicely decorated. The weather was not so nice while we were there but we greatly enjoyed just staying inside this beautiful home. The owner supplied snacks, coffee, condiments, body wash. These were very nice touches! Even though the house was off the beaten path, it was still very easy to get anywhere in Asheville area. We would highly recommend!

Asheville was our destination to enjoy the fall foliage, but the most breathtaking part of our trip was the cabin! From the moment you enter, you are captivated by the mountain views, as well as this gloriously decorated, well appointed home. The attention to detail is astounding, and the owners truly go out of their way to make sure that all your needs are met. A week filled with candlelight dinners, conversation by the fireplace or fire pit, hikes in the surrounding hills, and breathtaking sunsets were everything we needed to revive our souls. Having stayed in luxury vacation rentals from the shores of North Carolina to San Diego, this home was truly our favorite!

We had an unplanned stay in the area, and we’re so happy we stumbled upon this mountain lodge. The pictures don’t do it justice, and the views were even better. We named the visiting black bear, Fred! Everything was spotless, and the kitchen is stocked for a true chef. The only downside (I hesitate to use that word) is that the WiFi isn’t able to keep-up with someone intending to work remotely. It gave us a good excuse to put down our phones, and enjoy! We will definitely be back. REPLY: We are so pleased you and your family enjoyed your "unexpected" stay at East View! "Deep woods cabin only 15 minutes from everything"
We really enjoyed our stay while at this property. We played several rounds of golf over a few days & came home to cook dinner and hang out on the wonderful decks. The kitchen is one of the nicest I have ever seen and the whole layout of the home allowed for plenty of open space for visiting with your own private bedroom to get away form it all. We will definitely be back to this awesome home.

This lovely home was an ideal gathering spot for our family to celebrate Father's Day. The kitchen was well supplied and easy to navigate. We took advantage of both the screen porch and the back deck to socialize outdoors. The view was scenic and peaceful. We all slept well in the comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms. We truly appreciated being able to relax and enjoy this beautiful home and will come back again.

As soon as my family walked through the doors we were blown away at the beauty of this place! The home was very well maintained, extremely well decorated with high-end items and furniture, and had a perfect view. They even decorated it Christmas which was such a perfect touch and kept us in the Christmas spirit. It had everything we needed (dishes, towels, cable/internet, cleaning supplies, condiments, the list goes on. It's in a great location and not far from shopping and restaurants (10 minute drive). It exceeded our expectations! We're considering renting it on a yearly basis. We loved it so much. Only down fall are the rules you must abide by, but it's understandable as this is how the house is maintained so well. Plus the rules are doable. We'll be back for sure!

We stayed in this charming mountain retreat for an end of the summer vacation. The property is as advertised in fact, it is probably better in person. We had 7 adults and we had plenty of room. Once you take the 1/2 mile private drive up the mountain, it seems like you are a million miles away from everything but you are still only 20 minutes from the airport and 25 minutes to downtown Asheville. The house is perfect for families who like to cookout and relax on the porch overlooking the mountains. Quite, clean, and comfortable with so much to do in close proximity.

Thank you for a fantastic stay! It felt like home and we didnt want to leave. We would have extended much longer if it wasnt reserved. The home was so clean, stocked bathrooms and kitchen. Many ping pong tournaments. One of our favorite rooms was the screened in porch, morning coffee every morning out there engulfed in the mountains. The amount of sun on the other side of the huge deck was amazing as well. Only animal encounter we had was a wild dog and turkeys. My husband was relieved to not come in contact with any Bears. We love Chicago Bears, that's it. We ordered groceries and food delivery, no issues. Road is tight and windy up, but you're in the mountains!! Beds were comfy, shower was awesome. Some houses have a weird smell, this one did NOT, we were happy about that. We didnt use the fire pit or sauna. Next time. We will definitely be re booking for future trips. Close to town and highways. We loved this house so much!

We had a wonderful stay in this gorgeous home. Views were spectacular and the home is so tastefully decorated. Loved the screened in porch and TV outside was super nice feature. Kitchen was gorgeous and had all we could ever need. Ping pong table was so fun and ended up in daily tournaments. Sauna was a nice treat also. Surrounding woods great for exploring with the kids. Easy trip to downtown Ashville and central to outdoor activities for whitewater rafting and horseback riding. LOVED IT ALL!!!

As a former Owner of a rental property I truley appreciate all the little things the Property Manager & Owners have done to make this home such a magnificent place to stay. The pictures in the ad do not do justice to the dimensions of the house. Every room is perfectly appointed and there is plenty of room for everyone to have both family activities and personal privacy. We were overwhelmed with the details. From the fireplace to the wonderful screened porch / grilling area the ability to relax and enjoy the surroundings was perfect.

East View is a fantastic property to rent with family or friends. We rented the house over Christmas. Upon entering the driveway we noticed thoughtful holiday pillows and trees outside and it continued on the inside. They even had a big tree up which was great for our nieces who came up from FL and were worried Santa wouldn't find them. The house was outfitted with everything you could need so you could just focus on having a great time. It really does feel like a home. The road up was long, windy and essentially one way but once you get to the house you feel like you are on top of the mountain, which after you see the views you realize you are! And there are several grocery stores located not far from the house which made the shopping much easier. Having been to Asheville several times we knew there was much to do but all we wanted to do was hang out at this cabin. We would rent again, thanks!
"We Had a Great Thanksgiving"
The house is immaculately maintained and very clean. The kitchen is extremely well-supplied for a rental. Cooking and serving Thanksgiving dinner was easy. Beds are comfortable, lots of extra pillows, blankets, and quilts laying around for the sitting areas. All in all a very easy, comfortable rental.

Absolutely stunning! The accommodations were spectacular. Plenty of space for me and my 7 girlfriends. From the home to the furnishes every thing was over the top. The view from the deck was beautiful. It was awesome sitting around the fire pit sipping our cocktails reminising over old time. You will not be disappointed with this property!

Our 20th anual high school girls trip was a success in this beautiful mountain home! Everything was just perfect! Size and the amenities we’re outstanding! Couldn’t have asked for more. Well maybe no rain! But we enjoyed the outdoor amenities anyway. Thanks to the management for quickly attending a maintenance problem we had. We will definitely be back.

"Beautiful luxurious home"
This weekend was our 30th Wedding Anniversary and our sons joined us to celebrate. We absolutely loved this home and it exceeded our every expectation. The view, furnishings, ambiance, flow and comfortableness of the beds were incredible. We only wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the outside fire and porch. AVL was very accommodating to our needs and we will stay there again. I have already recommended the house to my friends!
"Spectacular Home and Setting!"
This house far exceeded our expectations for our long weekend with friends in Asheville! The setting is gorgeous; the views are of mountains and forest with no other structures anywhere in sight. Construction details of the house are all top notch, as are the amenities provided. Staff stayed in touch with us before and during our stay to make sure we had every question answered and every need met. Everything was squeaky clean on our arrival, and ready to be enjoyed. The property gets two enthusiastic thumbs up! We travel to Asheville relatively often and are always sorry to have to leave; it is a wonderful town. Leave plenty of time to get downtown for dinner if you're traveling at rush hour, as the roads can fill up. Our top two dinner recommendations would be Cucina 24 and Curate (modern Italian and Spanish Tapas, respectively); plan ahead as reservations in advance are generally a must. If you arrive in town early, there is a very active ambiance to be enjoyed just strolling around, with plenty of street musicians and artists worth spending time watching. The East View property then offers a quiet balance when tranquility is more on your mind; the deck is fabulous for gathering around the firepit or for enjoying an outdoor dinner. We will definitely be back!

What an amazing home to share! Family from North Carolina and Scotland stayed here for four days. We had an absolutely blast spending time together in this beautiful home. It is well appointed with activities for everyone. The pin-pong table is not something you find everywhere and it was a hit with our family. We hope to stay again in the future and create even more memories.

Fantastic!!!! This house is everything you see and more. It was warm and comfy and so clean and just beautiful. We were 3 families and we all had our own level in the house for sleeping quarters. The fire pit was a great place to hang out at night and the kitchen and BBQ were perfect for our nightly meals complete with great cookware. We will definitely stay at this property again!!!

Beautiful view of the mountains! This log home is absolutely gorgeous inside and out! The entire property was very clean and well-kept. Bed was comfortable, fire pit was amazing, and screened in porch was awesome. Oh... and the blueberries we picked off the property... YUM!!! We will absolutely be back again!!! Thank you!
"East View-Extraordinary"
East View is one of the most outstanding properties that we have had the pleasure to stay at. Our stay started when we drove up to the beautiful exterior and continued into the stunning interior. Even the smallest details are taken care of in this lovely home. But the real thrill is the view from the all glass great room. We enjoyed our time in the house, on the deck (especially using the fire pit) and even swinging in the swings. This will definitely become the place to stay that we will always consider first when we return to Asheville!
